I think so. People were questioning things. Like they are now.

[ summary, she's not sure they're not going to get another gross audio death. ]

Do you really think there's anything we can do?

[ so bitter. she's already learned how outclassed she is here on the ship, and there's a part of her that still hasn't gotten used to the fact that they're supposed to be working together instead of fighting, sees everyone as competition. except peeta. and except haymitch. ]

Good day to you-- this is Princess Nuala, you may recall our earlier conversation. I thought to draw your attention to this work, which I felt might interest you as someone who desires new perspectives on the workings of this ship and those aboard.

I am indeed. Curiosity is something that I've noticed is-- almost discouraged, here, and I want very much to encourage its growth.

No - or rather, he doesn't speak of such creations ( nuala doesn't say abominations but she does think it ) but I am certain that he'd not them away, were they interested.

No, Professor Xavier speaks of a natural mutation, of a new subspecies of mortal kind emerging in his world.

I suppose 'subspecies' isn't precisely the correct term; more a variant. The difference between those that came before and those that live now - your evolution.

With the magic, though I suppose in time such distinctions will be lessened as we work in tandem.

I don't, no, though I know there are those who hold that opinion. The idea that 'magic' is merely a word for something not understood is foolishness to one who understands it perfectly well. I would allow, of course, that it may be so that magic is something that can be understood scientifically, for isn't it a search for knowledge? I don't speak of magic with the intention to depress curiosity, after all.

What I do think is that we will learn from one another, that we will be able to find ways to work hand in glove with one another, to bring our disciplines together in ways we can't yet foresee.

I've experimented only little, truthfully, but I needn't have at all; I felt the difference from the first moment of my consciousness here.

Very much so.

( some parts more than others. nuada. )

I believe so. That's some of what we'd like to find out more about, in fact.

As a matter of course.

[As in he's nearly snapped several times and is afraid he's going to be kicked off security and can't sleep.

He didn't come in with a game plan better than "how are you," and so the next question is thought up after an awkward length of time:]

Have you been baking?
